According to international standard ISO1328.1 and national standard GB/T10095.1-2001, agricultural machinery gear precision is divided into grades 0 to 12, with higher numbers indicating lower precision. Grades 0-2 are considered developmental; very few domestic manufacturers can produce grade 2 gears. Grades 3-5 are high-precision, 6-9 are medium-precision, and 10-12 are low-precision. High-precision gears are used in measuring, instrumentation, and aerospace applications with high structural requirements; medium-precision gears are used in automobiles, machine tools, gear pumps, and agricultural machinery; and low-precision gears are used in less demanding machinery such as brick-making machines and lawnmowers.
